We are seeking an Enterprise Project Lead to join our Project Management Center of Expertise Department. Under the general direction of the Department Manager, you are responsible for the project management and administrative activities on assigned strategic enterprise projects, including enterprise process improvement initiatives. The position involves engaging and directing project participants to provide key deliverables and services and ensure timely completion of all project activities within scope, budget, and schedule.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall program management of prioritized enterprise initiatives enabling the achievement of the corporate strategy and targeting cross-functional process improvements.
- Engaging both internal and external project stakeholders through facilitated discussions to proactively manage project issues and seek out opportunities for efficiencies, which includes leading process redesign workshops with cross-functional participants across the enterprise.
- Establish, enhance, and maintain strategic relationships with members of ELT, Directors, and Managers to secure endorsement of initiatives, communicate project risks and provide regular updates pertaining to projects.
- Implement the program/project according to the defined governance plan and process for the initiative facilitates its implementation with clear decision-making responsibilities and an escalation process.
- Regularly provide formal presentations to internal and external stakeholder groups to communicate progress updates and solicit input.
- Lead working groups through all phases of projects and initiatives (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing) including defining the scope for external support and managing the engagement to ensure project and contractual requirements are met.
- Collaborate on the development of an organizational change management strategy with the Change Enablement Practitioner to promote the successful execution of program/project.
- Participate in departmental and divisional committees that relate to business planning.
- Lead cross-functional and cross-disciplinary teams across the enterprise for the development of business processes and resolution of complex issues.
- Responsible for budgets, schedules, and regular reporting through all stages of assigned programs and projects and ensuring the resolution of moderate project issues, including the negotiation of necessary changes and appropriate course of action.
Qualifications
- Graduate in Engineering from a University of recognized standing, with a minimum of six-years related experience including two years' experience in project management.
- Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba
- Demonstrated application of Project Management theory including scoping, estimating, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and change control in an engineering or construction environment.
- Strong computer skills including experience with scheduling software and the Microsoft Office suite of software. Experience in the use of SAP and P6 to oversee capital budgets and schedules would be considered an asset.
- Experience related to projects associated with transmission, distribution, HVDC, or natural gas plant operation as it relates to design, construction and commissioning activities would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated high degree of initiative, and ability to maintain working relationships and interact effectively with others at all levels, both inside and outside the corporation.
- Mature judgement and proven ability to carry out assigned duties with a minimum of direction and supervision.
- Additional formal project management training/education and/or PMP or other similar certification would be considered an asset.
- Ability to lead, direct and motivate personnel. Proven organizational and leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated ability in providing mature leadership and delegating authority related to planning, organizing, and motivating the activities of a group of engineers and technical support staff.
- Possess a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.

This position is currently eligible for the Hybrid Work Schedule as per corporate policy which presently allows employees to work remotely on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $45.50 - $ 62.81 Hourly, $87,179.56 - $120,362.32 Annually.
