Job description
CMHA, Yukon Division is a growing organization that requires casual Reach Out Support Line operators. This position is responsible for the delivery of support phone line services and for answering calls for the new 9-8-8 service. CMHA, Yukon Division is looking for responsible, flexible, grounded individuals to support this exciting initiative. The support lines will be moving to a 24 hours, 7 days a week service. This position requires flexibility including evening, overnight and weekend work.
Full time and part time positions available.
Essential Qualifications
- High school graduation and/or a minimum of 2 years directly-related experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- Standard First Aid Certification
- Bilingual or multilingual

- Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to deal with challenging situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse individuals.
- Active Listening skills.
- Computer reporting and scheduling skills. Good written, reporting and oral communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative in problem solving while exhibiting judgment, flexibility and a realistic understanding and appreciation of the issues related to mental illness.

- Demonstrated competence in cultural safety.
Accountabilities
- Work independently and support the orientation and peer training of support line volunteers.
- Assist with scheduling and supporting Reach Out Support Line volunteers.
- Maintain accurate records and data management on an online program.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and other functions of the organization as required.
- Understand and ensure behaviour is consistent with the CMHA’s core values and policies.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and development.
Other
- Must have a recent satisfactory criminal records vulnerable sector check.
- Working hours which are evenings, nights and weekends. Must commit to a minimum of 12 hours per week.
- First Nations 101 training and ASIST training (to be completed within 6 months of hire).
