Job description
Amentum is seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to support a construction project contract in Ontario for approximately one (1) month.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
- Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
- Be responsible for the planning and laying out of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments.
- Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work.
- Select materials necessary for the work.
- Using the design drawings, measure and layout metal plate and tubing during the installation process.
- Utilizing metal fabrication tools to cut / shape and prepare metal plate and tubing into components required by the design drawings.
- Working with welders and other members of the team in erecting the steel plate and tubing.
- Assist with the overall project goals, to include material handling, housekeeping and various activities that may arise during the course of the work.
- Performs other all duties and activities as directed.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma
- 4 years working in the trade
- Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen
- A security clearance level of TS/SCI is required at time of application and must be maintained.
Preferred Requirements:
- Construction Journeyman
- Overseas experience
