Full time hours Monday to Friday, ONSITE (Nepean). Seeking someone with strong problem solving skills, someone that takes ownership and accountability and is curious! Seeking someone that can champion social committee, health and safety, DEI practices and their cultural values. The ideal candidate would have labour relations knowledge or experience, have worked with or within unionized environments, however, they are flexible. Seeking an HR Manager that can support Managers to support their employees. The HR Manager would oversee 1 full time HR Coordinator and a part time HR Coordinator.
Our client offers a standard but comprehensive benefits package, sick days, and 4 weeks vacation to start. Salary $75-83K + 3.5% increase this year.
Duties but not limited to…
- Design, execute, oversee, and assess all human resources functions, encompassing performance management, professional development, recruitment and selection, onboarding, training and off-boarding, employee relations, occupational health and safety, recognition, retention, and engagement.
- Formulate short and long-term strategies to accomplish both departmental and organizational strategic objectives.
- Create, implement, uphold, disseminate, and evaluate standard operating procedures, documents, and forms within the HR realm.
- Collaborate with management to identify and assess HR needs within the department.
- Assist managers in staff recruitment, management, and termination processes.
- Engage in collective bargaining activities and ensure organizational compliance with collective agreements.
- Supervise and administer the application of policies related to employee complaints, harassment, and whistleblower incidents.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures in designated functional areas.
- Effectively manage and adhere to departmental program budgets.
- Provide guidance and support to other managers, directors, the CEO, and various boards and committees.
- Possess a thorough understanding and ensure adherence to relevant legislation, regulations, contracts, guidelines, policies, procedures, plans, and collective agreements.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of HR management best practices and current trends in employment legislation.
- Assume responsibility for hiring, firing, and disciplining department staff in consultation with the CEO.
Requirements;
- Post-secondary school diploma or certificate in a related field – HR Management preferred
- CHRP designation would be ideal, CHRL designation preferred
- Minimum 4 years of experience in HR Management
- Minimum 1 of experience in staff management
