Job description

Salary: 85-110k + benefits
Location: Ville Saint Laurent, Montréal

Our Client, a large company operating in the metallurgy industry, stable and prosperous manufacturing field. Seeking a Financial Controller to manage and supervise activities related to the management of the plant's financial and accounting functions while providing financial guidance to the management team.
The controller will sit on the management committee and report directly to the president of the company.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements;
- Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports at the end of each period;
- Analyze financial information to recommend and develop effective use of resources and procedures;
- Provide strategic recommendations to the management team;
- Supervise the accounts payable process;
- Control the supplier payment process, management of customer accounts, payment requests, paying particular attention to the age of invoices and monitor credit limits;

- Review manufacturing costs, overhead and administrative expenses, and provide recommendations on overhead absorption rates and cost management initiatives;
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of income and expenses;
- Comply with government tax requirements in terms of reporting expenses and income
- Assist and supervise the taking of physical inventories and reconciliation
- Demonstrate the greatest discretion in the treatment of confidential company and customer data.
- Perform any other related task

Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the field.
- CPA (an asset).
- Good knowledge of the manufacturing sector.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to provide advice on complex accounting requirements.
- Bilingual.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to resolve issues with other department members and managers.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail, ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and be highly organized
