Job Description:
The Patient Services Clerk is responsible for data entry, scheduling, phone communication, team support, site and supply oversight and clinic flow within a wide variety of clinics both on site and off site.
Education:
- Medical Office Administration Certificate/Diploma or Equivalent Program essential
Experience:
- 2-3 years clerical experience in an outpatient/clinic setting or equivalent
- Experience with data entry and excel
- Work within interdisciplinary settings
- Experience with the pediatric population and families
- Familiarity with multi-site and off site clinic work
- Experience working directly with physicians
- Experience within a setting with competing priorities and multiple demands
- Experience with process development and improvement as well as independent problem solving skills
Competencies:
- Travel to community sites
- Transportation of patients in wheelchairs and on stretchers
- Standing for extended periods
- Detail orientation and demonstration of critical thinking
- Computer literacy - Microsoft Office, Excel and Data Entry – essential
- Keyboarding skills – 50wpm – essential
- Current experience with Meditech, including registration, EMR, order entry and appointment scheduling required
- Current experience in the processing of physicians orders
- Demonstrated skill set in patient centered support and supporting a team with a variety of health care providers
