Job description

Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, LeDrew Lumber , is seeking a Credit Manager to join their team in Kelligrews, NL.

LeDrew Lumber has been a leading supplier of building materials since 1953. Building trust with their customers in Kelligrews, St. John’s and surrounding areas, they install what they sell and specialize in custom orders.

Position Summary

This role is responsible for all functions of accounts receivable for the organization. The successful candidate would have experience in credits and collections and preferably with experience in a similar industry.

The position includes developing and administering credit and collection programs to improve cash flow and reduce receivables, and monitoring and negotiating the collection of overdue accounts. The Credit Manager monitors credit and collection processes and operations and will make recommendations on opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for all functions of Accounts Receivable (A/R).

· Granting of credit for clients/customers.

· Set up accounts, collection of payment and keeping track of balances and outstanding invoices.

· Establish goals and targets for the collection of payments.

· Prepare feedback reports on collection of payments.

· Oversee department objectives through the development and execution of budget business plans.

· Implement policies and procedures for the collection of outstanding debt to prevent excessive amounts owing.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collections activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.

· Prepare regular reports on collections activities, presenting data and insights to upper management.

· Develop and maintain relationships with external collection agencies, attorneys, and other service providers as necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in collections, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.

· Degree or diploma in business administration, finance, or a related field preferred.

· Understanding parameters such as mechanic leans and mortgages on builders.

· Experience in the building supply chain and/or house construction industry is considered an asset.

· Credit and Collections industry experience is required. Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to collections, including fair debt collection practices.

· Strong knowledge of collections practices, laws and regulations.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and persuade customers to resolve outstanding debts.

· Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve targets and deadlines.

· Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Proficiency in using collections software and systems.

· Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all records and communications.

· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues.

· Proven track record of meeting or exceeding collections targets.

· Strong understanding of financial statements and credit evaluation.

· Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary & Benefits:

· $60,000-65,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience. Based on 40 hours weekly.
