The Logistics department is a vital component of APL providing direct services to many clients such as: Specimen Processing, Patient Care Centers, Health Authorities, physician’s offices and indirect services to other Health Authorities in the Northwest Territories and Saskatoon. We are seeking individuals who are detail-orientated and can work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment. Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, judgement and decision-making skills are required. This position works primarily Monday - Friday, 14:15-22:30.

Description:

As a Driver I, you will transport a range of products including, but not limited to, mail, packages, medical supplies, equipment, food and linen, in accordance with AHS standards, regulations and policies. Working independently, you must adhere to scheduled routes, as well as ad hoc requests, in a safe and courteous manner. You will be expected to perform a series of routine duties such as logging mileage, cleaning vehicles, performing pre and post vehicle inspections and reporting defects and malfunctions to management.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's Licence. Completion of valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certificate.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of TDG in relation to transportation of biohazardous materials. Knowledge of WHMIS.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working experience driving in Calgary and surrounding area is preferred. 3 to 5 years of courier experience is an asset.
