Job description
This is a contract position for a Software Developer for our public sector client.
Work location: Downtown Toronto
Duration: 1 year 2 months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining system design models, program codes, technical documentation, and specifications
Ensure development of application solutions is implemented and in accordance with the business requirements.
Designing, developing, and implementing web applications that work across modern browsers and various platforms and mobile devices
Conducting research and assessment of options for technical design issues
Contributing to design/development project plans, including work breakdown and resources estimates
Ensuring compliance with architecture framework and system standards, and Agile Development Methodology
Leading-edge technologies, design criteria including usability, security, and privacy for web and mobile applications
Assist with data validation testing
Assist and ensure unit testing meets expected functionality requirements
Support User acceptance testing, defect management
Knowledge transfer and documentation as prescribed by the Project Manager and Manager
Ensure Accessibility standards are met (AODA)
Qualifications
Experience in structured methodologies for development, design, implementation, and maintenance of applications.
Experience in one or more programming languages.
Experience with relational database technology
Experience with .Net framework 4.6 and later, C#, MS SQL 2016 and later, DevExpress Controls.
Experience with .Net CORE, MVC, Razor
Experience with the use of object and/or third generation language development tools.
Experience with application packaging for deployment.
Experience with TFS and issue tracking systems
Experience with making Application accessibility compliant (AODA)
Knowledge of transitioning .Net web forms to .Net Core
