Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Unreal Engine 5 Lead Artist to join and help build our team working on a brand new, funded AA multi-player game for the successor of the Nintendo Switch.
You will join a tightly knit group of industry veterans from the AAA games industry that are coming together to build an exciting new project that has a strong direction, but requires brand new implementation in Unreal Engine 5.
The ideal candidate is hands-on first - capable of wearing multiple hats, including technical and environment art working closely with the Art Director, driving the artistic vision of our projects.
You will lead a small, dynamic team, overseeing all visual aspects of game development from conception to execution. Your role will involve close collaboration with designers, programmers, and other stakeholders to ensure our projects meet high visual standards and are aligned with our creative goals.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the video games industry
- Worked at a minimum of two difference video game companies
- Shipped at least one game in Unreal Engine, version 5 preferred
- Established art pipelines on a games project in Unreal Engine from workflow to launch, version 5 preferred
- In evaluating and hiring art candidates
- Critiquing and providing constructive feedback
- With blocking out early stage environmental and gameplay assets, then iterating on them through pre-production and production
- Worked in various art stylized art styles, primarily in 3D
- Developed and implemented art kits: created shaders, materials, blueprinted dynamic structural assets
- Art asset development estimation, task creation and organization leading to milestone generation
- Created hundreds of gameplay assets over the span of many projects
- Managing and/or working with art vendors
Bonuses
- Done at least one successful game jam, with a completed game, with a group no larger than three people - in Unreal Engine 4 or 5
