Job description
To offer casual relief for our driving duties, including picking up and disbursing donations for The Salvation Army North Vancouver.
- Driving duties to pick up and deliver food and material donations, as needed.
- May assist in processing raw materials by unloading, sorting, packing, storing, loading the donations; protects the integrity of the donations.
- May assist with selecting donations for store distribution, meeting established standards of quality and distinguishing between discarded and good quality merchandise according to company standards.
- May assist with meeting assigned daily targets.
- Counts, weighs, and records incoming and outgoing donations.
- Complies with all safety procedures and in/outdoor tidy maintenance guidelines.
- May operate warehouse equipment such as power jack.
- Performs other duties as required
Education/Certifications:
- High school diploma
- A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License supported by a clean Driver’s Abstract
Experience:
- Up to 12 months of prior related experience, including experience with warehouse processing or goods distribution and knowledge of lifting guidelines are an asset
- Experience in sorting food and goods
- Punctuality, reliability, trustworthiness
- Required to lift and/move more than 40 pounds
- May operate warehouse equipment such as power jack
Hours:
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent.
- A clear vulnerable sector screening.
- A clean drivers abstract.
