Adecco is currently seeking a passionate individual for a permanent, full-time role as a Fisheries Biologist. Nestled in a picturesque village surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks and the Pacific Rain Forest, overlooking the historic Nootka Sound, this position offers a unique blend of natural beauty and professional growth
This opportunity involves the development of economic and food harvest initiatives, stock assessment, habitat protection and restoration, supporting negotiations, and conducting environmental impact research. Your interactions will span across Council, various levels of staff, fishers, and government organizations

- Pay Rate: Up to $85,000 / year

Duties and Responsibilities: - Support capacity building initiatives such as catch monitoring, stock assessment training.
- Contribute to and develop funding proposals, implement funding proposals for fisheries projects consistent with the objectives of the First Nation(s).
- Develop and implement fisheries habitat restoration and protection projects.
- Incorporate traditional ecological knowledge into aquatic management processes (run timing of local salmon populations, soft-shell periods in crabs location of special groundfish banks including mix and size ranges.)
Requirements and Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science in Biology or Resource Management
- Three years of experience in fisheries resource management
- Excellent negotiations, problem-solving, presentation and communication skills
- Understanding of First Nation culture, traditions and aspirations of the People
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office and Adobe)
- Valid BC Driver's license
- Vehicle and ability to travel to the First Nation(s) are required.
- Acceptable criminal record check.
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
