Job description
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
The Resource Advisor’s primary responsibility is to schedule Assurance staff to client engagements for audits, reviews, and compilations. The Resource Advisor will also be responsible for assisting with other departmental activities and initiatives, including scheduling staff training, coordinating departmental meetings, and other departmental administration as required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Responsibilities will include:
- Assigning Assurance engagements based on file difficulty, staff experience, and staff workload;
- Creating and monitoring engagement workflows;
- Monitoring staff workloads to ensure fair distribution of work;
- Assessing staff time off requests;
- Coordinating with Managers regarding timing and receipt of year-end engagements;
- Monitoring completion of engagement feedback forms;
- Coordinating departmental meetings and recording meeting minutes; and
- Maintaining department statistics of staff utilization rates, engagement turnaround, and productivity reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Secondary school diploma and/or post secondary education in a related field;
- A minimum of 5 years experience scheduling Assurance engagements in a public accounting firm;
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); and
- Experience utilizing accounting scheduling software.
