Registered Nurse I - Float, Permanent Full-Time
Critical Care, James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander
Definition of Work:
This is a varied professional nursing position with responsibility to provide complete nursing care in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. This position will provide coverage for the Critical Care departments, while floating to other units as required. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Required qualifications:
* Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
* Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
* Completion of an Emergency/Critical Care Course recognized by Central Health or willingness to complete next available offering.
* Completion of the Health Assessment course or willingness to complete next available course.
* Current BLS certification for health care providers from the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
* Current certification in ACLS, PALS and CTAS or be willing to complete next available courses.
* Consistent demonstration of the core values of NL Health Services: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (I CARE)
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Hours of Work: 75 hours bi-weekly (Shift work may be required)
Salary: NS-28 ($37.86-$47.16)
NS-31 ($41.79-$51.66)
