What we need:
Mohawk is looking for an Assistant Product Manager in our Product Management division of Wood & Laminate. This role will assist in the strategic planning and organization of product lines from the conceptual stage through the product life cycle to optimize profit, as well as meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Develop both short and long-term strategic product plans for products and implement actions to achieve desired results.
- Develop and implement pricing and profit margin initiatives to achieve annual financial objectives.
- Work with quality team, establish quality management standards and product specifications. Also, establish quality and color management program and product inspection procedures that ensure all product meets required quality standards.
- Establish and enforce product differentiation standards among multiple brands/customers.
- Develop and manage new product launches through the Product Development Process.
- Support the launch of new wood and laminate flooring products with the development of new products as needed.
- Manage and resolve, with quality team and suppliers, all accessories-related quality or product issues.
- Develop and manage an inventory management program that will control working capital expenses. Key objectives are to operate with the “optimal” number of SKUs and eliminate discontinued or redundant products.
- Develop relationships with key customers to determine product needs while maximizing company financial goals.
- Monitor competitors to ensure products are competitive in look, price, and quality.
- Ensure that product plans executed by all stakeholders achieve target introduction dates and financial goals.
- Develop and deliver product presentations and sales tools to internal and external customers.
- Visit regional markets to stay abreast of product issues and opportunities.
- Perform various other special projects as assigned.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business (required).
- Knowledge of wood flooring products preferred. Multi-brand development experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive product management responsibility. Experience (or a sound understanding) in manufacturing and sales.

- Must have strong/proven leadership and organizational skills.
- Must possess excellent inter-personal skills.
- Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
