Job description

Are you a Licensed Pharmacist looking to expand the scope of your practice and take on a clinical-focused role supporting long-term care homes and providing counselling and consultations? We are supporting a client pharmacy based in Kelowna, BC with their search for a full-time, direct hire Clinical Consultant Pharmacist, who will join a team providing in-person support and pharmacy services to long-term care and residential care facilities in the Kelowna Region (within a one-hour approximate radius of Kelowna). This pharmacist would be responsible for building relationships and overseeing the administration of medications provided by the pharmacy's operational team at these homes, including medication reviews, audits, development of care plans and provision of clinical instruction to the institutional HCPs, medication management for all residents of the homes on behalf of the pharmacy, . Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with BC College of Pharmacy requirements
- Ensuring service excellence in pharmacy service delivery at long-term care homes by educating and consulting with nurses and other HCPs
- Conducting medication reviews and auditing distribution
- Demonstrating leadership and collaborative abilities in order to establish strong relationships with partner organizations
- Visiting homes as required in order to perform clinical consulting responsibilities, in addition to providing clinical services virtually or by phone

Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist in BC and in good standing with the College of Pharmacy (recent grads are encouraged to apply)
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for building relationships and providing excellent service for all patients
- Detail-oriented with excellent time-management skills
- As travel is a requirement for this position, possession of a vehicle and valid driver's license are mandatory
- Injection certification is preferred
- Ability to work productively in an autonomous role
- Computer savvy, ideally with experience using Kroll; other proprietary computer system(s) will be used and training provided
