THE OPPORTUNITY

Looking to do what you love at a dynamic and Innovative consulting firm? We are looking for a Civil Technologist or Co-op Student with experience in drafting/design or construction inspection to join our team at our Penticton location. Preference will be given to candidates with both drafting and field experience, but we can make it work for the right person if you have experience with one or the other.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drafting for a variety of infrastructure improvement projects including residential land development, commercial/institutional sites, stormwater management, roads, and highways utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Assist with the civil engineering design for municipal, commercial, and land development projects including water modelling, wastewater design, stormwater modelling, site grading, and road design.

• Travel to project sites, conducting field reviews, minor surveying, and field data collection.

• Preparation of construction documents and construction field reviews to ensure substantial compliance with design and adherence to applicable local bylaws and provincial regulations.

• Act as contractor liaison and provide support to the contract administrator as required.

• Assist in the preparation of studies, specifications, and reports.

• Assisting with other duties as required from time to time.

PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or currently attending College

• 1-5 years experience in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.

• Certification with ASTTBC or being eligible for certification upon graduation

• The ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, manage deadlines, and have exceptional organization skills.

• A safety-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic and desire to excel and achieve.

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Basic understanding of the design of municipal and land development infrastructure.

• Experience in construction Field Review requirements and reporting.

• Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) and access to a vehicle.
