SOCIAL WORKER
(Social Worker - Level 2)

AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY SOCIAL SERVICES (AHESS) INVENTORY
The Department of Social Development is seeking qualified individuals to work as Social Workers with After Hours Emergency Social Services (AHESS) in the Client Service Delivery Support Branch. The service is located in Moncton, however a telework option from various locations across the province will be considered.
The Department is responsible for providing quality programs and services to all New Brunswickers including children, families, seniors, and persons with disabilities. AHESS provides an emergency response capacity for Social Development programs and services after regular business hours. The service is offered from 4:30 p.m. to 8:15 a.m. during weekdays and on a 24-hour basis on weekends and holidays. The social workers on duty assess referrals and service requests for Child Protection, Children in Care, and Adult Protection to determine the appropriate priority response, as well as approve emergency special benefits for the Income Support Program. Successful candidates will also be required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff members, professionals, community and volunteer agencies, government departments and the public. Other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Working variable hours on evenings, weekends and holidays is required.
In order to be appointed, candidates must be actively registered with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers and will be required to undergo a Criminal History Clearance, as well as an SD Record Check (under the Family Services Act) prior to appointment.

Salary: $64, 558 to $79, 274 per annum with 4.8% premium for child protection work
