PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The A2D (Acquire to Dispose) specialist is responsible for leading business improvement initiatives, gathering requirements, providing subject matter expertise on strategic asset processes, user acceptance testing of SAP and non SAP applications, and driving resolution to complex business issues to improve our systems and technology. In this role, you will engage and collaborate with eight different departments, Engineering, Mechanical (Car + Loco), Railway Technology, Real estate, IT, Industrial Development, and facilities teams to identify opportunities to utilize technology to enable streamlined processes by acknowledging and understanding people, process and technology. The role supports various A2D systems within Canadian Pacific. This position will require providing service, building and maintaining relationships with the business and functioning as a team player. You will also assist with the historic CP and KCS acquisition.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Knowledge and expertise to figure out business needs in areas such as Railway Technology, Engineering, Mechanical Services, Real Estate, Facilities and more
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, earn trust, build credibility becoming a trusted advisor for the Operations organization
- Roadmap development assistance – work with senior business leaders and Enterprise/Solution Architects to identify, elaborate and plan future integration and transformation programs and initiatives
- Gather requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, design thinking, task and workflow analysis
- Facilitate process improvement through simplification, standardization, and automation processes/solutions
- Business case development – work with business leaders, portfolio management, Enterprise Architecture, and IT delivery teams to develop business cases and funding requests supporting the roadmap
- Performs testing, identify issues with respect to solution performance, communicate required changes to development team and track resolution
- Lead discussions across the organization to optimize/influence decision making, and drive value
- Demonstrate CP’s leadership competencies
- Ability to develop and manage change management tactical plans based on strategy documents
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Mechanical or related field required;Experience required
- Experience developing strategic plans, roadmaps and business cases
- Highly analytical with experience in process mapping and business analysis
- Aptitude understanding of the organization’s processes, systems, and capabilities
- Experience and ability to work with Senior Leadership levels in the organization
- High business IQ and ability to articulate the value of different strategies & programs
- Highly effective communicator, confident, passionate, clear, respectfully assertive and inspiring
- Displays emotional intelligence; demonstrates self-awareness and remains calm under pressure; expresses confidences in ability to succeed; keeps an optimistic attitude even when things are not going well
- Applied understanding of data science
- Experience using Design Thinking methodologies to generate innovation is an asset
- 2-5 years of experience in Business Transformation is an asset
- Lean or Six Sigma experience is an asset

Management Conductor Program:
