Heavy Equipment Mechanic - $30-$45/ hr - Ottawa
Calling all Heavy Equipment Mechanics and Diesel Mechanics!!
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a family-oriented team in Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy construction equipment and vehicles. They will also be tasked with maintaining repair and maintenance logs, sourcing quotes for parts and services, and ensuring the timely completion of all work.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7am-5pm (OT after 55 hours)
Salary: $30 - $45 an hour (based off experience)

Responsibilities
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for this great company located in Ottawa, a normal day would include:
- inspect and diagnose heavy construction equipment and vehicles for proper performance
- carry out repair work on heavy equipment and vehicles
- source quotes for parts and/or out-sourced repair work
- create and maintain vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance systems, including completion of service and repair logs
- pick up parts, materials, etc., and deliver them to the Company shop or job site
- maintain schedules by completing work in a timely manner
- follow all safety rules and standards
- conduct service work such as oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, etc
- complete other duties as assigned by Company Management
Qualifications
Who is the perfect match for this position?
- 5+ years of repair experience, preferably in heavy construction equipment (licensed 421a or 310T/310J/425a with off-road experience a nice to have)
- technical competency in the use of tools and application of knowledge and skills required to complete work
- professional representation of the company and proficient English communication skills (written and verbal)
- ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
- valid G license, clean driving record and reliable transportation to work (work vehicle provided for field jobs)
- must have basic set of tools and steel toe boots
