Important Information: Previous catering experience required. Supervisory experience an asset. This position comes with overtime pay, benefits, pension plan, room for growth.

Job Summary
How you will make an impact:
You will be responsible for overseeing the staff and daily operations of the Catering Department.
As a Catering Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise employees in the Catering Department.
- Assists in the performance appraisal process
- Determine workload requirements from catering orders
- Coordinate catering staff schedules to ensure all functions are delivered, served, and cleared in a timely fashion
- Meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements; address last-minute changes and resolve problems
- Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner
- Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items
- Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions
- Help staff set up rooms to desired specifications
- Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations
- Serve food and beverages to guests
- Return food, beverages, serving equipment and utensils to catering facility
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
- Ensure proper food preparation by following approved recipes and production standards
About you:
- You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent and Responsible Beverage Service Certificate for the province in which you are applying
- A valid driver’s license may be required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with banquet and catering functions with high volume production.
- Proven supervisory skills and experience, capable of motivating, leading, and developing associates.
- Strong people and customer service skills; great at relationship building.
- Creative ability to apply current food trends and presentations to food service operation.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal.)
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and readily acceptable to change work priorities at any time.
