Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services the Manager, MDRD will maintain responsibility for all aspects of medical device reprocessing at Joseph Brant Hospital. The Manager provides clinical and managerial leadership, direction and supports the interdisciplinary team members in the provision of optimum quality of care to patients and their families. The Manager works collaboratively within the Surgical Program, and other Programs as necessary, under the guidance of the Director and collaborating with the program managers, advisory committees, and privileged staff. The manager provides professional expertise, leadership and works within a team environment to provide effective and efficient service, a positive patient experience, and promotion of a quality work life environment. This will be accomplished through the implementation and use of quality improvement, utilization management, risk management, best practice standards, staff development, information systems, surgical benchmarking, and resource supply chain management. The Manager, MDRD provides necessary quality and risk structures with standard operating procedures specific to the reprocessing technology in order to meet industry standards. The incumbent models and inspires the values of Joseph Brant Hospital and sets goals that align with these values and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

The Manager, MDRD will organize, control, and manage day-to-day reprocessing functions throughout Joseph Brant Hospital including the efficient utilization of human resources, materials, and monetary resources of the operations. The manager provides leadership through developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating systems to achieve corporate objectives. The Manager will implement quality assurance and risk mitigation procedures and report findings to program leadership. Ensure productions are of high standard and are conducted in a manner consistent with provincial, regulatory, and infection control standards.
