Job description
Great opportunity for an experienced Intermediate with excellent full cycle accounting experience to join a very successful and well-established multi-national company in an exciting industry. This is an 18-month maternity leave contract. Depending on performance and business alignment after 18 months there, could be the possibility of permanent hire.

What- the Role:
The Intermediate Accountant position reports to the Financial Reporting Manager and is responsible for analyzing financial information, preparing accurate and timely financial reports/statements, and performing accounting controls to a high level of detail. This individual must be a strong team player and be able to communicate with several cross functional roles. This individual requires the ability to understand and manipulate large data sets and approaches problems with a solution and innovation orientated attitude.
- Transaction level reconciliation of assigned accounts
- Assist with monthly/quarterly/year end close and the preparation of the monthly financial statements, reporting and analysis
- Provide accounting challenge, support, and oversight to Branch operations
- Assist with treasury management (bank reconciliations and cash flow), budgeting, tax returns, year end audit
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the business operations
- Ad hoc projects as assigned by the Financial Reporting Manager
Who- the Candidate:
- Pursuing or have obtained a CPA designation or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in a full cycle accounting environment
- Excel analysis – the ability to manage and manipulate large data sets to solve accounting problems and to communicate insights upwards to management.
- Positive solution orientated attitude
- Communication - The ability to communicate capacity/deadlines/problems with the Financial
- Reporting Manager and to reach out across departments to collect the necessary information to problem solve
- Knowledge of ASPE and experience with IFRS an asset
- Strong understanding of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls
- Self-motivated, pro-active and self-directed
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a commitment to accurate, complete and detail-oriented work
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
- Sound analytical thinking, problem solving, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Flexible and able to work effectively in a diverse working environment
How Much:
Base salary in the range of $70-80K commensurate with level of experience, skills, and education + a robust benefits package. There will also be a completion bonus upon successful completion of the 18 month maternity leave contract.
Where:
Based in the company’s Vancouver head office. Hybrid working schedule of Mon-Tues-Wed in-office and Thurs-Fri remote.
