Kopper King Services Ltd., a dynamic and diverse business entity located at 91888 B Alaska Hwy., Whitehorse, YT Y1A 5B7, is excited to announce an opening for a full-time Bookkeeper to join our team. We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated individual who can bring their expertise in bookkeeping to oversee the financial aspects of our varied business operations.
Position: Bookkeeper
Location: 91888 B Alaska Hwy., Whitehorse, YT Y1A 5B7
Type: Full-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week (7 hours/day)
Salary: $32.30 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and statements for all business transactions.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner.
- Prepare and manage budget forecasts and financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
- Process payroll and maintain employee financial records.
- Collaborate with our external accountants for annual tax preparation.
- Assist in financial planning and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial information.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relevant certification (e.g., CPB or CMA) is preferred but not required.
