Assistant Project Supervisor

Job description
All students must be full time day students at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance in fall of 2024.
Students must meet the basic requirements of the position. Verification of school status must be submitted.

Submissions for summer student positions must be submitted by the closing date.
Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; 40 hours per week, plus overtime as required.
Primary Duties:
- Assist in the provision of quality and quantity assurance duties during the construction of capital projects, including storm sewer, sanitary sewer and watermain installations, asphalt paving and concrete works (curbs and sidewalks), watermain lining, full road reconstruction projects and etc.
- Maintain detailed and accurate work records for construction projects;
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and construction specifications;
- Act as a representative of the City of Cornwall and use outstanding public relations skills and maintain a professional image at all times;
- All other duties as assigned.
- Assist the City's Surveyor, Project Supervisors and/or Right-of-Way Technician as required;
Qualifications: (documentation to be provided at time of application unless indicated not required)
- College or university level education in civil engineering or a related field;
- Experience with use of survey equipment is considered an asset; documentation not required;
- Experience related to construction is considered an asset; documentation not required;
- Must have Class ‘G’ Drivers License;
- Must provide a Drivers Abstract;
- Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Record Check), at the candidates own expense.
