Description

The Civil Engineering Site Supervisor , under the direction of the superintendent or site manager, plays a vital role within a construction company specializing in civil engineering projects. Responsible for direct supervision of activities on the site, this professional ensures the smooth progress of projects and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the superintendent or site manager to plan, organize, and direct daily activities on the site.
Supervise and coordinate teams of workers on the site, including subcontractors, laborers, and suppliers, to ensure efficient progress of work.
Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules by closely monitoring the progress of work.
Ensure that safety standards and work procedures are adhered to at all times by implementing safe practices and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of the site to identify potential issues, construction defects, or safety risks, and take appropriate corrective actions.
Communicate effectively with the project management team, including engineers, architects, and foremen, to resolve issues and make timely decisions.
Maintain accurate records of site activities and reports, including daily logs, incident reports, and quality checklists.
Train and mentor team members on work procedures, quality standards, and safety practices on the site.
Participate in site meetings, safety inspections, and other project management activities to ensure transparent communication and effective coordination.

Requirements

Degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field, or any relevant combination of education and experience.
Experience in site supervision or a similar role in the construction industry is an asset.
Thorough knowledge of construction standards, safety practices, and local regulations.
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team on-site.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
Ability to quickly solve problems and make informed decisions in complex and evolving situations.
Strong organizational skills and effective time management to meet project deadlines.
Flexibility to work on different sites and adaptability to changing work requirements.
