Our client is a leading distributor in North America They are looking for an Assistant Controller who will play a key role in managing the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and administrative activities.

About the Opportunity - Assist in the day-to-day management of finance processes.
- Handle month-end responsibilities, including reviewing account reconciliations, complex and higher-risk accounting entries, and account analyses.
- Provide support with the procurement process and inventory control.
- Allocate corporate expenses to sales channels.
- Prepare combined monthly/year-to-date/quarterly financial statements and monthly analysis packages with variance analysis in a multi-currency environment.
- Own and maintain the Chart of Accounts (COA), financial periods, Financial Statements, and forecasts in our ERP system (Acumatica).
- Create, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Act as a liaison between Finance and IT/Data for data and reporting requirements.
- Support the Controller with process improvements, strengthening, and documenting internal controls.
- Manage sales tax filings, remittances, and reconciliations in the USA and Canada.
- Handle EHT/WSIB reporting.
- Act as a liaison and provide backup for various financial and other third-party audits.
- Conduct other analyses and fulfill ad-hoc requests.
- Manage a team of approximately three in-house/external accountants.
About You - Undergraduate degree in business/accounting, with a CPA designation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant/Manager role
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and automation.
Salary Range
$105,000 - $115,000/year
