Job description:
- Employment for our Summer season (June - October) with the opportunity for continued employment in our Winter season.
- Ensure sanitation and food safety standards are met in all stages of food preparation, starting with the ingredients and ending with the finished dish.
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Being respectful towards other staff and treating kitchen equipment with proper care
- Follow specific cooking procedures or instructions.
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment.
- Ensure quality of ingredients, proper food handling and food storage procedures.
- Enjoy being creative and willing to learn new techniques.
- Prepare ingredients for smoking, curing, pickling, fermenting, brining, etc.
- Work in compliance with culinary plan as well as company policies and standards.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Experience in the culinary field, using various ingredients and cooking techniques.
- Great attitude towards learning and growing as a chef.
- Must be reliable, organized and show initiative.
- Ability to give and receive critical feedback in a positive way.
- Culinary diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Food safe certificate is preferred.
