About the Role
We are seeking an IT Officer to contribute to the SED Fund’s growth and lead our IT functions. Currently, SED Fund consists of 16 team members based in various countries.
The IT Officer will take on responsibility for the day-to-day running of IT systems and devices, as well as the IT aspects of our risk management projects. You will be expected to apply your expertise in IT and information security to facilitate the SED Fund’s continued development as a dynamic international organisation. You will work closely with the Chief of Operations as well as with the Grants & Operations Manager on development and implementation of risk management initiatives and policies.
In this role, you will be called upon to deliver under pressure, with flexibility, to consistently produce high-quality work, anticipate potential needs and propose solutions, offer assistance and service to team members and partners, and to present and execute on ideas for improvement.
This is a part-time role (hours flexible and to be discussed with the right candidate, projected to be up to 20 hours). We are accepting applications for candidates based in The Netherlands , The UK or Ireland. Candidates must have the independent right to work in the location they will be situated.
Reports to: Grants and Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking care of day-to-day IT operational tasks and providing problem resolution for team users.
- Performing general maintenance, preventative and remedial repairs tasks to guarantee services and devices’ health: install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot for institutional hardware and software.
- Working with third party vendors to remediate issues or implement changes as needed.
- Training and guiding SED team users and partners in the use of IT tools and systems.
- Collecting and analyzing usage/performance metrics of systems and devices, for internal reporting.
- Advising on and leading implementation of new IT tools, systems, and processes, to improve efficiency and security (focusing on data storage and sharing, internal communication and project management).
- Provide input in risk management and cybersecurity, providing timely communication about security incidents and alerts, team and devices compliance with tech requirements, implementation updates, etc.
- Ensuring data security and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Keeping abreast of current events, developments, issues, regulations, latest technology, etc. to maintain a thorough understanding of best practices and potential improvements.
Experiences and Competencies
- Degree and proven experience in a relevant field;
- A thorough understanding of general information security principles and practices;
Essential - experience with:
- Advanced Information Security and Access permissions management
- Data Protection principles and practices knowledge
- Cloud Platform Admin user
- Endpoint Management for Apple devices and software
- Password Manager Admin
- VPN Admin
- Video Conferencing Admin
Desirable - experience with:
- Grants Management System Admin
- Business Intelligence Dashboard Admin
- Project/Task Platform Admin
- Website and domain Admin
- Attack scenarios used by competent adversaries.
