AIEN INSTITUTE of SHANGHAI OCEAN UNIVERSITY (SHOU) is recruiting for the 2024/25 academic year. We are located in the sea side area called Lingang, the affordable alternative to living in downtown Shanghai. Who We Are… AIEN Institute has a 21-year history of success as a Joint Venture between Shanghai Ocean University and the University of Tasmania, Australia. We are a specialized program offering a dual bachelor’s degree in either Information Management and Information Systems or International Marketing. Our Successes include:

What is the Program… We offer 6 Language Programs. Our core program offers language services to approximately 750 first and second-year students. First year is intensive English for Academic Purposes across all language skills and second year focuses on English for Occupational Purposes related to employability skills, intercultural communication, and corporate field research. We also coach/mentor approximately 250 students who compete in various university, provincial, and national skills based, public speaking and debate competitions. Lastly, we offer advanced listening and speaking courses for students across the colleges of SHOU.
What Skills You Need to Possess… - BA degree or higher, master’s degree preferred.
- TEFL and/or TESOL Certification
- 2 years of Adult Teaching Experience
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with students and colleagues
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary education team.
- Strong writing ability centered on focused coaching and feedback for students.
- Ability to multitask duties related to course instruction, grading, and special projects.
- Motivated to participate in extracurricular programming for student skill building and departmental teamwork.
