Job description

Position Scope

We are seeking Boat Captains to support our Tailings team by operating NACG vessels on Tailings ponds in Fort McMurray, AB. You will assist in all on water construction and operations projects. Towing/pushing, and transport of barges and dredges. Pipeline assembly and maintenance, installation of mooring systems and, installation of docks and wharfs. General labor, rigging and hoisting, cleaning and care of vessels.

 

Tailings and Environmental Construction typically carries out assembly, deployment and relocation of large mooring systems, installation of floating pipelines, barge and dredge launching and moves, transport and fueling, assembly and install of docks and wharfs, oil skimming and cleanup, and ice breaking activities.

Preferred but not required:

If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process for a site-based role, you will be asked to provide the following:

  1. Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract
  2. Valid CSO
  3. Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  4. Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing:
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test
    • Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
    • Audiometric Testing
    • Vision Screening
