The schedule for this temporary part-time position is flexible.

The starting annual salary for this part-time Elementary School Teacher position ranges from $24,250.40 to $42,486.80, with placement on the July 1, 2023 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Education & Experience

• Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate from an accredited program
• Training and experience administering and interpreting IPT Assessments
• Familiarity with IELTS instruction
• Familiarity of the BC ELL Standards
• Experience teaching ELL learners at the Secondary level
• Experience using technology to facilitate language acquisition
• Eligible for Abbotsford Academic English Language Program certificate
• Eligible for B.C. Certification
• Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports

• Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies.
• Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with others to achieve group goals and objectives
• Caring & Inclusiveness: Create and maintain an environment that is caring, inclusive and supportive of all students
• Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in the ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances
