Job Description

Mission

We are looking for our new Director of Transportation Engineering in our Edmonton office. You will lead the local transportation team of approximately 25 employees and be instrumental in the delivery of our current workload and the ongoing development of our business in Edmonton and Alberta.

You will be responsible for performance, growth, and profitability of the team by bringing in person presence, in-depth market knowledge, entrepreneurship, strong team leadership and implementing new strategic initiatives across Western Canada in collaboration with other CIMA+ sectors and Transportation teams.

For this job opportunity, you will be based in our Edmonton office, AB with regular in-office presence required (minimum 3 days/week) and will report to our CIMA+’s Western Canada Vice President of Transportation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Effectively lead the current team in delivery of ongoing mandates and work collaboratively and efficiently with the other CIMA+ Transportation teams
• Engage with other CIMA+ business lines to identify and pursue multidisciplinary business opportunities including green transition, EV, transit, building, municipal, land development and other disciplines including identifying and leading strategic development initiatives for local and regional clients and objectives.
• Monitor budgets and corporate health of projects and the overall group
• Provide thought leadership, regulatory oversight, contractual advice and mentorship to the developing team and continue effective growth strategies and career development of staff
• Ensure safety is paramount and implement and participate in quality and ESG initiatives

Qualifications

• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (business or other degrees and relevant industry experience could also be considered)
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the engineering market in the Edmonton area
• Demonstrated strong understanding of the local market including future influences and trends, with a focus on municipalities as well as entrepreneurial ability
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in personnel and performance management, decision making, client and change management, employee development, and team building
