Job description

We are looking for a Water / Wastewater Process Engineer to join the growing team for our client in the Halton region.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the ideal candidate will be accountable for providing process engineering support for water treatment projects. These projects will span from pre-sales feasibility studies to the creation of detailed engineering deliverables. Anticipate a well-rounded role involving office desk tasks, hands-on equipment review, and potential on-site assistance to clients at their operational facilities across North America and beyond. Responsibilities
• Design, create, and generate process PFDs, P&IDs, and mass balance calculations.

• Formulate water/wastewater treatment protocols and set criteria for equipment sizing, as well as appropriate materials of construction, encompassing pumps, valves, and analytical instruments.
• Compile Bills of Materials (BOMs) detailing equipment, instruments, and valves for procurement purposes.
• Conduct technical assessments, offering analysis, reports, and specifications.
• Stay abreast of advancements in water and industrial wastewater process technologies.
• Record modifications to process scope and design.
• Offer project support, engage in peer reviews, and provide technical guidance to fellow engineering staff.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, mechanical engineering, and production teams.
• Assist in site audits, installations, and commissioning activities as necessary.
• Foster open communication with customers, suppliers, and internal personnel on design issues and requirements to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality products and services.

Qualifications
• Diploma, undergraduate, or graduate degree in chemical or environmental technology, or a minimum of 3 years of experience in water and wastewater systems design, operations, and engineering.
• Proficient in various water treatment processes, including redox reactions, precipitation, lime softening, clarification, filtration, dewatering, ion exchange, and membrane technologies.
• Ability to develop new, proprietary, and innovative process solutions.
• Knowledge of metals and industrial wastewater processing technologies, techniques, and associated equipment is a definite asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (valid driver's license and passport).
• Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent is necessary.
