Job Description
As an In Room Dining Manager, you are responsible for the overall operation of the In-Room Dining department, which functions 24-hours per day, 7-days per week. Through your intuitive leadership skills, you will help the team succeed and grow, while ensuring our luxury standards and service expectations are consistently met.
- Responsible for delivering elevated, personalized service to our guests and colleagues
- Oversee the In-Room Dining operations, including scheduling, colleague performance reviews & management, and luxury standards reviews and revisions.
- Research, plan, develop and implement improvements to service and delivery standards within the department, and hotel.
- Work with the culinary teams on menu development and implementation.
- Manage the departments beverage program, making needed changes and updates to keep current with market and customer trends.
- Work with the Chief Steward and Director of Food & Beverage on required smallwares and capital purchases to improve the department and its offerings.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures that all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed and has the knowledge and tools to work safely.
- Maintain awareness of, and ensuring compliance with all food safety & hygiene policies and procedures (as outlined by the EHC manual) are followed at all times.
- Maintain awareness of, and ensuring compliance with all sustainability and food waste reduction/diversion policies, procedures and programs at the hotel.
- Maintain awareness and strong working knowledge of the collective bargaining agreement, ensuring all team members are working within the spirit and terms outlined.
- Assist other food & beverage operations with coverage, when required.
- Other duties, tasks and projects as may be assigned by the Director of Food & Beverage from time to time.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years food & beverage management experience (as Asst. Manager or Manager/Department Head) in a similar setting.
- Luxury hospitality experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
- Highly responsible, reliable and professionally presentable.
- Strong ability to lead, motivate and grow a small team of dedicated colleagues.
- Experience with In-Room Dining is a strong asset.
- Experience in a city-centre hotel property is an asset.
- Experience working and managing within a unionized environment a strong asset.
