Senior Project Manager, advancement to Director level
Heavy Civil, Deep Foundations

OUR CLIENT
This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable Heavy Civil Contractor based in Toronto, Ontario. Our client is well established within the Toronto market, recognized for community contributions and well reputed all who have had the pleasure of working with them.

We are looking for an experienced candidate within water/sewer and Heavy Civil who would like to work with an amazing group and move into a Construction Management, General Manager or Vice President role eventually. The opportunity is here!

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Degree in civil engineering or engineering tech,
• 10 years construction experience
• Exceptional communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment to your team and the aims and goals of the company
• Demonstrated experience in cost savings on project delivery
• Demonstrated experience developing customer focused client relationships
• Keen sense of foresight and versatility and a track record for creative problem solving
• Risk identification and mitigation

WHAT'S REQUIRED

• Manage, lead and control projects from start to finish, including staff, sub-contractors performing staff assignments and job management.
• Maintain and enforce high standards for health and safety on all project sites
• Financial acumen to manage a project P&L statement
• Claims/extras management experience
• Maximize production efficiencies and develop consistent and creative means and methods to remove barriers to productivity to increase, add value and save costs on projects.
• Develop and deliver quality projects reliably, sustainably and environmentally focused
• Coach and mentor team members to foster a culture of betterment of the business and individuals who work within the business
• The management of the complete project lifecycle from pre-bid planning, operations planning, submittal documentation, daily work efforts, billing /payment certificates and project closeout.
• Prepare costing and manage expenses, estimates and vendor agreements and sub trade selection.
• Manage all aspects related to daily production, production issues, extra claims management and related time and material cost management.
• Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution, often taking the lead on solving these problems.
• Detail oriented and constantly looking at ways to improve the process and maximize production efficiencies.
• Create and develop innovate solutions to make processes efficient, safer and more productive
