Our client in Ottawa, ON is looking for a Inventory Worker to join their team on a fulltime temporary basis.
The Inventory Worker will be responsible for receiving new materials, unpacking and storing them, ensuring inventory accuracy through cycle counting, and preparing material kits.
The preferred candidate must be eligible to work and reside in Canada, hold a high school diploma, and have experience in inventory and material handling.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Validating information between packing slips and items received including part numbers and part revision, received qty vs declared qty on packing slips.
Communicating any discrepancies with the Buyer.
Storing packing slips for future reference.
Breaking down product received to minimize storage space required to stock items but ensuring that items stored are still protected from damage.
FIFO material storage when applicable.
Labeling items for storage.
Conduct transactions in the inventory system in parallel with stocking material in the warehouse. Considerations for, add to existing stock, new material/parts number, stored quantities and at times vendor specific consideration.
Meticulous at managing inventory making sure physical and transaction qty’s are accurate.
Using weight counting methods and equipment when appropriate.
Preforming cycle counts to validate accuracy of data in the system.
Root cause analysis of cycle count discrepancies.
Suggest/implement corrective actions to address inventory inaccuracies!
Make adjustment in the inventory system to correct any inaccuracy’s adding notes with sufficient detail to transactions for future reference.
From excel spreadsheets provided generate kitting labels in support of material pulls.
Remove specified material by required qty’s in support of the kitting request.
System transactions to extract the material from stock and the capture of the customer receiving the item(s).
Packing and labeling of material for:
Consumption of material by users on campus.
Shipment of material to other facilities.
Movement of material to user’s lab area on campus or Shipping/Receiving as required.
For shipments leaving the campus, include Shipping Request Form and at time a Packing List when delivered to shipping.
Management of material removal and restocking in support of material rework activities.
Purge and quarantine of discrepant material including the associated inventory transactions.
After project completion, management of material for sell to contract manufacture or scrap of material for re-cycle.
Movement/consolidation of material in the warehouse to recover space in support of new projects.
Have knowledge of ESD handling procedures through online training to be provided.
Use of best practices for handling and storage of ESD items.
Qualifications & Skills:
Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
High School Diploma
Inventory & Material handling experience is a must
