POSITION: Recruitment And Retention Coordinator (Full-Time Permanent) LOCATION: Wikwemikong Board of Education SALARY: Starting Wage at $25.14 per hour START DATE: Immediate
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Business Official and general direction of the Superintendent of Academics and Education Director, will provide administrative support on the processes and procedures for recruitment, screening, hiring, retaining WBE employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct and actively participate in all aspects of the recruitment, selection and orientation process including, but not limited to, criminal background checks and orientation documents, request forms, etc.
- Supports the broader HR team in day-to-day responsibilities included but limited to full cycle onboarding/offboarding, policy review, employee relations, safety, retention and engagement initiatives, training and development and HR administration
- Coordinates all social media posts related to recruitment and employment, including LinkedIn presence and company website
- Understands new market trends to drive innovative recruiting strategies.
- Network with local community, building and maintaining relationships with industry, schools via job fairs.
- Review and revise and update job descriptions for the WBE
- Develop, review and update Employee handbook
- Responsible for using innovative sourcing techniques to attract top talent candidates and building and maintaining highly robust pipelines.
- Assist with housing options for newly hired staff.
- Understand WUT policy in hiring and recruitment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College or University studies in Human Resources or related field or 5 years of related employment experience
- Highly organized self-started with strong interpersonal skills to include the ability to communicate effectively and work as a member of a service-oriented team
- Strong computer skills, including database management, word processing, creating spreadsheets, document management and organization, email applications and the internet.
- Skill in prioritizing and managing projects
- Knowledge of Federal and Provincial regulations governing Human Resources activities is an asset.
- Knowledge and appreciation of Anishinabek culture, traditions, language, and history
- Provide a cover letter, resume, and three current work-related references.
- Provide current vulnerable/criminal reference check (within the last 90 days) upon offer of employment.
