Job description
Our client in the transportation industry, specializing in shipments for construction materials, is seeking an experience Dispatcher to join their Operations team.

- Permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday
- 40 hours per week, flexible hours
- Salary varies from 50-65k depending on experience
- Insurance provided after 3 months' probation
- Have your own closed office
- Cross-training to learn all ins-and-outs of the company
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Dispatcher will be responsible for receiving requests for pick-up and drop-offs for Ontario and Quebec regions, specifically for construction related materials.
- Supporting with new potential clients
- Allocate pick-ups and deliveries to different drivers
- Daily follow-up of all open files (reservations, customer follow-up requests, etc.)
- Update customer files in the system and handle customer service requests
- Prompt and efficient dispatch to ensure quality service is maintained
- Planning and execution of outbound and inbound deliveries
- Act as the main point of contact for drivers on the route
- Ensure tracking and traceability (GPS system)
- Resolve and respond accordingly to calls from customers and customer service group
- Work with operations team in a respectful manner
Qualifications
- 1-2 years' professional experience in a related field, in dispatching for a construction or transport company using FlatBeds and B-Trains.
- Strong computer skills
- Familiar with load security, have a good understanding of trucks and equipment
- Customer service-oriented
- Organized and reliable
- Be a team player but also ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate in English and French
