Your Contribution
As an Intermediate Field Technician you will work in collaboration with the Soils and Materials Team:
- Undertaking geotechnical and construction quality control field testing and inspections (i.e. compaction, concrete, rebar, etc.) at various construction projects;
- Undertaking logging of geotechnical drilling operations;
- Assisting senior sta? with various tasks required for multi-disciplinary projects including collection, preparation and testing of samples;
- Setting up, performing tests and logging results in the ?eld and laboratory;
- Preparing factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results by the supervisor;
- Consistently executing safe work practices and work plans while completing ?eld, laboratory and o?ce work;
- Generating and assisting with preparation of deliverable documentation such as technical reports, summaries, data sheets, graphs, proposals and quali?cation packages;
- Participating in project management, site and sta? planning meetings;
- Handling di?cult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts;
- Maintaining records of health and safety information, calibration certi?cates, equipment manuals and applicable standards;
- Traveling out of town for extended periods of time to remote areas to ful?ll ?eld work responsibilities as required.
Your Profile
- Completion of provincially recognized Technologist program OACETT C.T. designation or equivalent experience;
- CCIL and CSA certifications an asset;
- 5 plus years' experience in geotechnical and/or construction quality control laboratory and ?eld testing;
- Ability to travel between worksites for extended periods of time as required;
- Possession of or ability to obtain a Security Clearance required; and
- A valid "G" Driver's license is required.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
