Position Available:
Human Resources Assistant
Position Status: Full Time
Location: 5310 Explorer Drive, Mississauga
Reporting To:
Human Resources Business Partner, Aviation
Hours of Work:
Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Human Resources Business Partner, Aviation, the HR Assistant will be responsible for providing support in all areas of HR including, but not limited to, full-cycle recruitment & selection, benefits, compensation and pension administration, and HR data management. The HR Assistant will work closely with the HR Coordinator to provide support with administrative HR duties with the emphasis on handling and preparing sensitive information, files, and programs related to matters of a confidential nature. Under the Human Resources Business Partner, the HR Assistant will also support a variety of Human Resources initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in full-cycle recruitment & selection, including pre-screening candidates, booking interviews, preparing interview documents and updating recruitment tracking systems;
- Assist in the preparation of new hire orientation packages and related documents;
- Data entry into our HR systems, including the compilation of reports;
- Administration of the Years of Service Recognition Program;
- Respond to employees with their general HR inquiries and prepare employment verification letters;
- Provide administrative support including photocopying, maintaining accurate employee files and HR filing system (electronic and paper) etc.;
- Provide administrative support to the HR Coordinator as required;
- Other duties as assigned to maintain efficiency within the HR Department.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing or completed post-secondary education in a relevant field or a combination of related experience and education in Administration and Human Resources;
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple ongoing tasks;
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to seek out answers to questions and problems, critical and analytical, strong problem solving skills;
- Demonstrate both self and situational awareness;
- Ability to take direction;
- Relationship building skills with a customer service focus; and
- Strong oral and written communication skills required to update correspondence.
