Reporting to the Director of Procurement Operations & Programs, the Fleet manager plays an integral role in delivering excellence in the management of the fleet. This role will be responsible for monitoring the fleet, deployment to entitled employees, and making sure the policy is adhered to. This function will include managing the end-to-end fleet process and making sure that corporate, regional, and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
You Are Great At:
- Documenting, acquiring, and assigning vehicles to entitled users.
- Collaborating maintenance and repairs required
- Complying with local laws and regulations, including settlement of fines
- Collaborating vehicle and driver paperwork
- Managing financial aspects of the fleet
- Creating and managing fleet policies and procedures
- Identifying and resolving operational problems
- Analyzing fleet data and suggesting recommendations for improvement
- Dealing with urgent or emergency repairs as required
- Regular audit and management of fleet inventory
- Manage vendor partner relationships.
- Manage costs and optimize fleet resources.
- Leading and implementing process improvements
What It Takes:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet management and reporting
- Minimum 2 years experience in contract negotiation
- Negotiation skills. A well-developed negotiation skill to interact with vendors and other stakeholders to manage fleet that are tailor-made to individual user requirements yet adhere to the corporate framework and standardized processes in line with internal policy and regulatory requirements.
- Team building: Ability to assign tasks, communicate effectively, and ensure that employees work together. The manager should be able to offer guidance whenever team members need it as well.
- Listening: Knows how to give clear instructions to the team, pay attention, and good listener
- Leadership: Ability to lead team members and be proactive in collaborating with users, management, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Industry knowledge: Familiar with the business’s needs as well as knowledge of automobile industry trends and practices.
- Speaking German is a plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/College Diploma in finance, economics, accounting, or equivalent experience in fleet management. Ideally candidate should possess relevant experience in negotiating and interpreting contracts related to the fleet.
