TELUS Supply Operations purchases, manages and distributes all materials and services for our company from network infrastructure like high-speed internet and 5G wireless, to consumer products like smartphones and set-top boxes.

What you’ll do

As a member of the Purchasing and Inventory Management team, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the operational readiness and availability of our Guided Buying software. This involves coordinating and leading the technical support requirements for the platform, serving as the main contact for our current service provider, and driving process enhancements.

Our Guided Buying platform operates on software provided by Ivalua, a leading provider of cloud-based source-to-pay solutions. It integrates with SAP, TELUS's ERP system, which serves as the backbone of our purchasing processes.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including analyzing, troubleshooting, configuring, and testing functionality for the Guided Buying platform. Your goal will be to ensure that it not only meets but exceeds our business requirements. Your contributions will play a crucial role in optimizing the platform's performance and usability, aligning with the strategic objectives of our Purchasing and Inventory Management operations.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will collaborate with peers and stakeholders on process improvement activities. This includes identifying opportunities for automation, enhancing analytics tools, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of technical processes.

A key aspect of your role will be performing root cause analysis on technical issues. This involves investigating and identifying the underlying causes of problems, allowing us to implement effective solutions and prevent future occurrences.

Qualifications

What you bring

• Proven experience in implementing and managing ETL processes, EAI integrations, JSON data handling, cXML standards, and API development
• Strong understanding of data integration concepts, data transformation, and data quality management
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in integration projects, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
• Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries, optimize database performance, and effectively manage and manipulate data within relational databases
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot integration issues to ensure smooth data flow and system interoperability
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• 3+ years of experience in a technical role
• Acknowledged for strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills
• A natural ability to solve issues and desire to constantly gain knowledge that allows you to do your job more effectively

Great-to-haves

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
• Relevant certifications in integration technologies, such as ETL tools, EAI platforms, or API development, are a plus
• Supply Chain certification such as APICS CSCP, SCMA SCMP
• Experience with SAP or other enterprise ERP system
• Experience within the Telecommunications Industry
• Experience with Ivalua’s software platform would be highly beneficial
• Familiarity with other notable source-to-pay software platforms, such as Coupa, SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud, or Jaggaer, is a plus
