Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President responsible for Marketing & Communications, the incumbent is responsible managing and maintaining an integrated communication, marketing, sales and branding program – for the entire organization and all business lines - to ensure sales and branding opportunities are maximized.
Unit Mandate
The Unit is responsible for marketing and communications for a diversified financial services provider of commercial lines of property & casualty insurance and risk management services, as well as group benefits and training to a growing membership base of utilities and utility-related organizations based primarily in Ontario. It the development, implementation and maintenance of an integrated communications, marketing, and branding strategy, producing business results in sales and customer service/brand experience.
Job Responsibilities/Activities
Marketing:
- Research and analyze data from several sources to identify new business opportunities and trends
- Ongoing communication and engagement with internal stakeholders
- Implement content marketing initiatives on all channels
- Participate in shaping and advancing the corporate brand and narrative, particularly through the development/implementation of marketing and communication strategies
- With focus on the development, support and maintenance of the corporate CRM (HubSpot), championing and leveraging this technology platform to drive new marketing capabilities and channels.
- Work with Product Managers in developing marketing strategies and tactical plans to produce business results across property/casualty insurance lines, and HR- and training-related products and services.
- In concert with Product Managers, coordinate the review and modification of the marketing strategies and tactics on a regular basis.
- Provide leadership and hands-on support in the planning and execution of key client/stakeholder events including the Annual General Meeting, and annual Risk Conference in Muskoka.
Communications:
- Draft solid on-brand messaging in the development of broadcast emails, social media, advertising, annual report, newsletters, executive speeches and presentations, etc.
- Support strategic planning activities including conducting research.
- Coordinate production and distribution of various marketing collateral including writing copy
Business Development and Sales:
- Development (with Product Managers) of customer acquisition account development/retention plans, pertaining to all business units, particularly enabled by technology tools and traditional channels
- Responsible for direct client relationship building activities and execution on tactics in support of sales with prospects
- Support sales activities through the development of product material, website, and CRM.
- Deliver sales support for certain event offerings, mainly through email and telephone.
- Attend client-facing events, with high level of interaction with Members.
- Other duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required
- Minimum of 5+ years of solid experience in content and relationship marketing
- Strong comprehension of brand building and branding
- Ability to manage and prioritize several projects with a high attention to detail
- Advanced time management and problem-solving / plan-development skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Expertise in brand and direct marketing, with demonstrable experience with digital channels, tactics, and search engine optimization, in addition to traditional channels
- Possess a combination of creative and analytical thinking and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Property/casualty insurance experience and/or knowledge of regulated electricity industry issues an asset
