DUTIES

Reporting to the Director, Facility Management, the Manager, Maintenance is responsible for coordinating and scheduling trades staff and contractors for efficient and safe execution of specialized maintenance, repair work, and equipment installations across the College's Exchange District Campus and Regional Campuses. The Manager, Maintenance will make necessary decisions to ensure normal operation of the physical plant, including budgeting, staff scheduling, and maintenance planning. They will conduct building inspections, implement cost-saving initiatives, and independently manage staff and resources in alignment with RRC Polytech policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Journeyperson trade designation, 2nd or 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate, FMA (or similar Facility Management designation)

• Extensive experience in building operations and maintenance in a multi-building complex environment

• Extensive experience ensuring compliance with all legislative inspection requirements for life safety systems including Fire Alarms, Elevators, Emergency Generators, Fire Dampers, Backflow Preventers, etc

• Strong knowledge of safe work procedures as defined in the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations (W210)

• Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Municipal codes, regulations and by laws

• Experience supervising unionized maintenance staff and contractors in a large building or complex

• Experience managing annual operating budgets

• Experience assigning work orders using a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

• Must possess superior communication and customer service skills and an ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast paced environment

• Effective conflict resolution, analytical and problem solving skills

• Excellent leadership skills

• Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience resolving employee relations issues within the guidelines of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and applicable Policies

• Experience using Maintenance Connection (CMMS software)

• Leadership Development training

• Certified Technicians and Technologist Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) designation

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

• This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends

• Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check

• Incumbent must hold a valid class 5 driver`s license

• May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses

• This position may be required to travel

• This position is subject to audiometric assessments

Salary: $74,172 - $101,504 per annum
