The Opportunity
The OpenText Corporate Digital ESM team is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent analytical, problem solving and customer service skills in managing the overall vision of Service Management within OpenText.
The Product Owner is a professional responsible for organising, prioritising, and assessing work for scrum teams across all projects. The role manages and incorporates feature requests, develop user stories and acceptance criteria. The Product Owner plans releases, follows progress, and analyses end user preferences. The role requires comprehensive systems administration, operational support, and configuration skills.
What You Are Great At
Operational Support :
- Collaborating with prospective internal Business Units and departmental teams in understanding and anticipating their needs and translate them into product requirements.
- Defining the vision for the SMAX, Operations Orchestration, On Premise Bridge products based on Business Units, Operational requirements to help drive the business forward.
- Create and maintain in partnership with the Enterprise Architect and Solutions Team and Product Delivery Teams in producing the roadmap based on the vision.
- Managing the product backlog and prioritising them based on changing requirements, and deciding which SMAX/OO/OPB features will have according to the whole business requirements.
- Overseeing all stages of product creation including design and development.
- Developing User Stories.
- Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process.
- Liaising with the Product Team, Solution and Delivery Teams, Business Units, and IT Operations to deliver updates.
System Configuration, Setup, and Project Delivery :
- Reporting:
- Event dashboards
- Performance dashboards
- Release Management:
- Integration and upgrades in-line with all ITOM tooling and 3rd party products.
- Manage, support all future releases covering:
- Enhancements
- Bug fixes
- Known issues
- Administrator:
- Supporting all requests either via projects of BAU SMAX/OO/OPB requests for all activities that cover:
- Configuration
- Knowledge
- Reporting
- Runbook automation updates
What It Takes
To carry out the role of a Product Owner successfully, a candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- 4+ years of previous IT experience in an IT DevOps Teams.
- In-depth knowledge of scrum and agile software development methodology.
- Working knowledge of product development architecture.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies, such as Kanban and the ability to work within an agile framework. Preferably with any qualifications/certified: SAFE, Scrum Master, Agile Product Owner.
- Work as part of a Team.
- Working knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Service Level Management
- Service Management Design
- Configuration Management
- Testing and Transition
- Ability to comprehend and follow documented guidelines & procedures.
- Proven analytical & problem-solving skills & the ability to organise and prioritise several tasks at one time.
- ITIL v4 accredited.
- Working knowledge of IT4IT framework.
- Good understanding of both on-Cloud and off-Cloud environments.
- Creative problem solving and analytic skills with an ability to identify, develop and implement solutions to gaps to meet the needs of the business.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
