Job Duties

Job Duties

Fabricate, maintain, install, transport and repair shop and classroom equipment components and infrastructure in the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Schools of Construction and Transportation at the Moose Jaw and Regina campuses. This support is also provided for Extension Outreach sites. Occasional welding, fabrication and equipment operations support is supplied to Government Services and Shop Stores as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

1. Grade 12 or equivalent.
2. Journeyperson in a mechanical field.
3. Welding certificate.
4. Knowledge and experience in the use of welding equipment.
5. Valid driver’s license.
6. Effective organizational skills.
7. Experience and certification in forklift operation. (Certification may be obtained as a condition of employment).
8. Recent automotive and mechanical experience.
9. Effective communication skills (written and oral).
10. Effective interpersonal skills.
11. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
