Description

The Process, Instrumentation and Controls Technician plays a crucial role in a construction or civil engineering company, ensuring the design, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems used in various industrial and infrastructure

Responsibilities

Assist engineers in the design and drawing of instrumentation and controls systems, using CAD and modeling software.
Install, configure and commission measuring instruments, sensors, actuators, process systems and control systems, following plans and technical specifications.
Perform performance tests, calibration checks and adjustments on instrumentation and control equipment to ensure proper operation and accuracy.
Carry out regular inspections and preventive maintenance operations on instrumentation and control systems to prevent breakdowns and maximize operational availability.
Diagnose technical problems, identify underlying causes, and make necessary repairs to resolve malfunctions of instrumentation and control equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation of interventions performed, tests performed and modifications made to systems, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.
Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel to ensure proper and safe use of instrumentation and control systems.
Monitor technological developments in the field of instrumentation and control, and recommend equipment improvements or upgrades based on business needs.

Requirements

Degree in electrical engineering, industrial mechanics, automated systems engineering, industrial electronics technology, mechanical engineering or in a related field.
Experience in an instrumentation and controls technician role, an asset.
Knowledge of the basic principles of instrumentation, regulation and control of industrial processes.
Knowledge of measuring instruments, sensors, actuators and control systems used in industry.
Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively identify and resolve faults.
Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities in a dynamic and changing environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
Excellent oral and written communication.
