An affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, STELIA is an aerospace and defence company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of composite components and assemblies. Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 150,000 sq feet of facilities dedicated to operations, manufacturing and administration.
Reporting to the Director of Production , the Production Manager will coordinate all activities under their control to ensure the availability of sufficient resources and organize the workflow to meet safety, quality, productivity and schedule requirements.

In this role, you will:
- Set and monitor daily, weekly and/or monthly objectives and communicate them to your team.
- Lead and deliver production processes and activities.
- Organize workflow to meet specifications, quality standard and deadlines.
- Identify risks, monitor production to resolve or escalate issues.
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization, enforcing health and safety regulations and requirements as required.
- Support the company strategy and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Support scheduling and capacity planning and anticipate bottlenecks.
- Support and champion continuous improvement initiatives including identifying opportunities for cost savings and waste reduction.
- Work with any employees to document and investigate safety and quality issues to effectively prevent similar incidents in the future.
- Support and review proposals to ensure production opportunities are achievable.
- Liaise with other managers/teams to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
- Support production-related audits (e.g., AS9100, customers’ audits)
- Lead, mentor, coach, and guide team members, enabling them to develop and grow their skills.
- Lead and facilitate all aspects of the people processes to ensure departmental success.
You have:
- Diploma in manufacturing (e.g., composite, structural assembly, painting, or relevant field), or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years’ experience leading people or functions.
- 8+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or defence.
- Experience in addressing safety, quality and efficiency issues, and track record of following through to ensure closure.
- Must be eligible for registration with the Canadian Controlled Goods Program
- Must be eligible for the Canadian exemption in US ITAR 126.5 (b).
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
- Experience in implementing manufacturing best practices and operational excellence (Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, Lean, 5S, etc.)
- Action-oriented and willing to challenge the status quo.
- Strong decision-making skills and result-driven (safety, quality, cost) approach.
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
- Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups and departments.
- Proficient in M365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and ERP software.
- Emotional intelligence skillset to connect authentically, communicate effectively, and thrive collectively and lead change in the workplace.
