Championing a sales culture among associates and managers in the hotels.
Collaborating with revenue management teams to achieve budgeted RevPar by balancing occupancy, mix, and rates through rate adjustments based on cost, competition, supply, and demand.
Developing and managing the sales budget, expenses, flow through, and recovery to maximize returns.
Generating profitable strategies by evaluating business/sales goals, market opportunities, past results, and available resources.
Directing sales activities, measuring progress, and making necessary adjustments to retain existing business and attract new customers.
Coaching and supporting sales associates to create an effective, dynamic team.
Managing performance to achieve sales goals and conducting performance appraisals for the sales team.
Reviewing benchmarking reports and competitive shopping reports to maintain awareness of the hotel's market position.
Developing and executing strategic and tactical marketing initiatives and annual marketing activity calendar for hotel and restaurant outlets to capture demand and gain market share from competitors.
Engaging with contacts for brand sales and marketing initiatives, training, feedback, and coaching.
Leading Social Media efforts to ensure dynamic, engaging, and effective messaging.
Ensuring cost control and meeting budgeted expenses, including approving master bills, VIP gifts, complimentary rooms, etc.
Conducting account and market research to implement effective sales strategies for each market segment and grow market share.
Overseeing the property CRM (CI/TY) and ensuring proper documentation of client communication, proposals, and contracts.
Conducting outside sales calls, telephone solicitation, and site inspections to build relationships and target new business.
Professionally representing the hotel at events, tradeshows, conferences, and industry-related workshops and while entertaining clients.
Participating in industry-related events, clubs, societies, organizations, and committees.
Preparing and evaluating monthly reports and taking appropriate actions.
Promoting the organization's mission and values internally and externally, and ensuring adherence to these values and mission.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Director of Sales in the hospitality industry, with a proven track record.
Post-secondary education in Sales or equivalent, preferably in Hospitality.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Highly energetic, self-starter with strong sales skills, including negotiation, prospecting, and presentation.
Effective sales leadership, capable of motivating and guiding the team to achieve goals.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to delivering superior customer service.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Established industry contacts and marketplace knowledge.
Computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel, Word, group booking systems, internet, email, and CRM systems (CI/TY).
